BD Diesel
This upgraded transmission is engineered toĀ significantly increase drivetrain durability and handle up to 300% more power and torque than a stock transmission. Revised oil circuits, stronger internal components, and increased clutch capacity work together to deliver improved reliability, cooling, and shift performance under extreme load.
A BD rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan adds 3.5 quarts of additional fluid capacity, helping control operating temperatures while increasing case strength. The pan design reduces case flex and internal oil leakage, incorporates heat-dissipating fins to keep temperatures down, and includes a magnetic drain plug to capture debris.
Internal upgrades include a new torque converter lock-up valve to boost lock-up pressure, along with updated lubrication circuits, a revised regulator, and an updated pressure release spring. Main line oil pressure is increased, and a modified separator plate provides short, crisp, and consistent shifts. New A and B trim valves, springs, and solenoids further enhance hydraulic control.
Clutch capacity is increased with 20% more friction surface area, high-energy clutch material, added frictions, modified power pistons, and new return springs. Clutch configurations are as follows:
