BD Diesel
This upgraded transmission is engineered toĀ significantly increase drivetrain durability and handle demanding power levels, supporting up to 300% more power and torque than a stock transmission. Revised oil circuits, stronger internals, and increased clutch capacity work together to deliver improved reliability, cooling, and shift performance.
A BD rigid aluminum heavy-duty transmission pan adds 3.5 quarts of additional oil capacity, helping reduce operating temperatures while increasing case strength. The pan design also minimizes case flex and internal oil leakage, features heat-dissipating fins for improved cooling, and includes a magnetic drain plug to capture debris.
Internal upgrades include a new torque converter lock-up valve to boost lock-up pressure, along with updated lubrication circuits, a revised regulator, and an updated pressure release spring. Increased main line pressure and a modified separator plate deliver quicker, firmer, and more consistent shifts. New A and B trim valves, springs, and solenoids further improve hydraulic control.
Clutch capacity is increased with 20% more friction surface area, high-energy clutch material, additional frictions, modified power pistons, and new return springs. Clutch counts are configured as follows:
